At Shakti Yoga Academy, we believe that yoga is more than just an asana practice and through this journey, our goal is to help you tap into your inner power through self discovery and get in touch with the essence of what yoga is all about. You will come out of this training with the knowledge and confidence needed to begin teaching yoga and to begin transforming lives. Lead teachers Andie Chiasson and Sarah Zimmer will guide you on this epic path with humor, kindness and a sense of community.

To get a deeper feel for the program and the faculty, we highly encourage you to attend classes with Andie and Sarah prior to application to make sure you resonate with them as teachers as this is an intimate program and it is important to have a balanced relationship with your mentors and gurus.

100-hour or 200-hour teacher trainings available

For more information or to complete an application, contact andie@409fitnessstudio or call 985-688-2040.

The beginning of the process will be self-exploration and how it relates to yoga. We'll practice asana, meditation, breathing, mantra, history, stories of yoga mythology, poems music and more. The second part of this journey will be studying and practice of teaching skills, use of props, adjustments, construction and sequencing of classes and more.

You will be required to commit to weekly studio practices leading up to the training with the facilitators (which is included in the cost of the program) as well as service hours and homework assignments between meetings.

Graduates who fulfill all the requirements of the program will receive a teaching certificate and will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level.
